The school as a Catholic is committed to the total human development of a person. It is an agent of renewal and evangelization, and we believe that its call to contribute towards the transformation of society, its graduates will help build Christian Community wherever they may decide to live and work. We, finally, believe that we can attain all these through a well-balance and relevant curriculum, competent and effective Administrator, faculty and other personnel, with the moral, emotional and financial support of the parents and the community. HISTORY OF ST. PIUS X INSTITUTE St. Pius X Institute, as we know it today, was formerly Cuyapo High School, privately owned and operated by a group of professionals of Cuyapo. In the year 1953, Cuyapo High School was sold to the Roman Catholic Church and became a Catholic School. In the following year, 1954, when Pope Pius X was declared a saint it was given the new name of St. Pius X Institute. The school also adapted PIUS X’s papal motto: “TO RESTORE ALL THINGS IN CHRIST” as its own. St. Pius X Institute was originally located along the corner of Quezon and Quirino streets presently occupied by the Cuyapo Rural Bank. From the old building, Rev. Fr. Henry Zeegward, a Missionary of Sacred Heart transferred the school to the compound of the Roman Catholic Church and started to put a new structure. As a Catholic School, it aims to nourish and strengthen the moral and spiritual life of the community. St. Pius X Institute had the following as School Director: Rev. Fr. Jose Croonen 1956-57 Rev. Fr. Bartolome 1957-61 Rev. Fr. Cornelius Swinkels 1961-62 Rev. Fr. Theodore Keet 1962-67 Rev. Fr. Pedro Magugat 1967-79 All of them belong to the congregation of the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart. On October 3, 1979, the parish and the school was turned over to the Administration of the Diocese of San Jose under: Rev. Fr. Romeo C. Nietes Oct. 3, 1979-Jan. 11, 1994 Rev. Fr. Ramos 2014-present On the other hand, not all its products have the fortune to pursue college education. Still as parents, they continue to teach their children the good manners which they learned from their Alma Mater. In this way, they are a big help in carrying out the goal of school: To form its graduates to be good citizens. As an educational institution, St. Pius X Institute offers quality education at par with, if not better than, many schools in the province. From its humble beginnings, it can now boast of successful professionals as doctors, engineers, lawyers, teachers, priest, sisters and athletes from its graduates. Today, St. Pius X Institute is a big academic family. It has a complete elementary program. It was put up in the year 2006 under the supervision of Rev. Fr. Rufo Ramil H. Cruz. During its first year, it has Pre-Elem (Nursery to Grade II) and the following school year from grade III to grade VI. And 80% of its faculty and staff are graduates of St. Pius X Institute. The faculty line-up is a blending of the pioneers and the young. Some others have retired from active teaching but we still see around Miss Herminia Silvestre. Pioneers like Miss Dionisia Paguio, Mr. Silvestre Velasco, Mrs. Anita Funtila and Mr. Tereso Manialong already passed away. St. Pius X Institute looks ahead. It continues to inquire how it can best serve the community. It will always try to exhort its products to a man for the service of other men. It will continue to uphold the ideal of its Patron Saint: TO RESTORE ALL THINGS IN CHRIST.
